Pokémon Go guide: How to evolve Burmy

Pokémon Go has unique evolution requirements for the trash bug Pokémon, Burmy. While you can just use candy freely to evolve it, it has two different evolutions depending on the Pokémon’s gender. Evolving Burmy into Wormadam or Mothim requires 50 Burmy Candy. If the Burmy is female, it will turn into Wormadam. If it’s male, it will turn into Mothim. The Burmy will keep whatever coat type it has when it evolves into Wormadam. Burmy can have three different unique coats depending on where you catch it. The green Plant Coat Burmy spawns in grassy areas, the yellow Sandy Cloak Burmy spawns at beaches, and the pink Trash Coat Burmy spawns in urban areas. You won’t need all three Burmy or Wormadam forms in order to get their respective Pokédex entries, but if you’re a completionist, you’ll want all three. If you’re having a hard time hunting down the worm Pokémon, Burmy does rotate into raids on occasion, depending on the event. Burmy is also available to find Shiny, though finding a Shiny Burmy will be rare.
